I'm stunned and saddened to hear of the tragic death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski. Congresswoman Walorski was the Ranking Member of the Ways and Means Subcommittee, Worker and Family support that I Chair. We have worked collaboratively and collegiately for many years on the Ways and Means committee. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, her staff and their families, and the other victims of this terrible crash.

Chicago – U. S. Rep. Danny K. Davis voted to secure urgently needed relief for small businesses across the state and his congressional district.  The Relief for Restaurants & Other Hard Hit, Small Businesses Act, will deliver $55 billion to replenish funding for district-wide restaurants and establish a new program supporting other small businesses impacted by the pandemic.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will be the third African-American Supreme Court Justice, the fifth woman, and most importantly, she will be the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.

The U.S House of Representatives passed the Postal Service Reform Act of 2022. This bill will require future postal service retirees who have been paying into Medicare their entire careers to enroll into Medicare. It could send the postal service 22.6 billion dollars over a ten-year period of eliminates the requirement to prefund retiree Health Benefits. It mandates six-day integrated service delivery.
