Help with a Federal Agency

Important Notice: Constituent Casework Transition

Office of Congressman Danny K. Davis

7th Congressional District of Illinois

Final Deadline: November 16, 2026

As Congressman Danny K. Davis prepares to conclude his distinguished service in the United States House of Representatives, we want to ensure that constituents with active or pending federal agency cases understand their options for continued assistance.

Monday, November 16, 2026, is the final day our office will accept constituent casework requests.

Because some federal agency matters may remain unresolved when our office closes, we are asking constituents to indicate how they would like their cases handled.

Your Five Casework Options

If you have an active or pending case with our office, please select ONE of the following options:

Option 1: Transfer Your Complete Case File to Your Incoming Member of Congress

Authorize our office to transfer your entire case file, including correspondence and communications with federal agencies, to the incoming representative for Illinois's 7th Congressional District. You will need to complete a new Privacy Release Form with the incoming representative's office.

Option 2: Transfer Limited Case Information to Your Incoming Member of Congress

Authorize our office to share only your name, contact information, and the federal agency handling your case. Other case documents will not be transferred. You will need to complete a new Privacy Release Form before the incoming representative can assist you.

Option 3: Transfer Your Case to a United States Senator

Authorize our office to transfer your case information and related federal agency correspondence to one of Illinois's United States Senators. You will need to complete a new Privacy Release Form with the Senator's office.

Option 4: Continue Working with Congressman Davis's Office

Request that our office continue working on your case until November 23, 2026. Please understand that we cannot guarantee your matter will be resolved before the office closes. This option does not provide for continued assistance after that date.

Option 5: Close Your Case

Request that our office terminate your case and discontinue further assistance.
