My office has been receiving a higher than usual volume of complaints relative to mail delivery, especially during the last month or so. In an effort to make all of us aware of what the postal service is doing to try and meet the challenges they are experiencing I have asked them to meet with all of the elected officials in the area to discuss the issues. The meeting is being planned for Monday, February 10, 2014 p.m. at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street, Oak Park. The public is invited to attend.
Davis Calls for Economic Justice for America's Unemployed
Congressman Danny K. Davis (D-IL07) will be joined by his invited guest Wessita McKinley, worker since the age of 12, veteran, single mother and now laid off worker unable to find a job despite tireless effort, and being forced to make the impossible decision of whether to pay for her daughter's college education or pay for basic necessities such as rent, food and utilities today in a press conference demanding the extension of unemployment insurance for 1.3 million American's just like Ms. McKinley.
