WASHINGTON, DC –Today, three Ranking Members from the Ways and Means Committee sent a letter to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) and Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), requesting the Committee provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) with at least an additional $560 million in FY 2018 over total FY 2017 funding.

Protecting America’s Communities from Weapons of War
The legislation will ban the sale, transfer, production, and importation of the following:
? All semi-automatic rifles that can accept a detachable magazine and have at least one of the following military features: (1) pistol grip; (2) forward grip; (3) folding, telescoping, or detachable stock; (4) grenade launcher or rocket launcher; (5) barrel shroud; or (6) threaded barrel.

Background on Gallagher/Davis bi-partisan Trauma Informed Care Resolution:

H. Res. 443 is a bi-partisan resolution “Recognizing the importance and effectiveness of trauma-informed care” which recognizes the importance, effectiveness, and need for trauma-informed care among existing federal programs and agencies. Trauma-informed care takes into account a patient's history of trauma in the design of the patient's treatment and encourages the use of trauma-informed care within the federal government.
