There is still time to act, SSI recipients who did not file a tax return in 2018 or 2019 and who have qualifying dependents should immediately go to the IRS’s Non-Filer Tool to provide information about themselves and their children. They need to act by Tuesday, May 5, 2020 to receive the full amount of their Economic Impact Payments as soon as possible.

John Yarmuth (D-KY) led a bipartisan letter to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig to advocate a simple, expedited procedure for vulnerable youth – including homeless and foster youth - to receive Economic Impact Payments when they may have been claimed as dependents on their parents’ tax returns.

I know that SEIU Health is currently in negotiations with Nursing Homes in my District and other places throughout Illinois and I know that nothing is more important than the services being provided by these facilities during this crisis period. I also know that a strike date has been set for May 8, 2020 and it would be disastrous should that happen.
