There is still time to act, SSI recipients who did not file a tax return in 2018 or 2019 and who have qualifying dependents should immediately go to the IRS’s Non-Filer Tool to provide information about themselves and their children. They need to act by Tuesday, May 5, 2020 to receive the full amount of their Economic Impact Payments as soon as possible.
WASHINGTON, DC –This week, Rep. Danny K. Davis (D-IL) and Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) led a bipartisan letter to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig to advocate a simple, expedited procedure for vulnerable youth – including homeless and foster youth - to receive Economic Impact Payments when they may have been claimed as dependents on their parents’ tax returns.
Representatives Danny K. Davis, Barbara Lee and Terri Sewell lead letter to Speaker Pelosi and Minority Leader McCarthy calling for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to quickly develop a program for Medicare/Medicaid and Medicaid beneficiaries to improve access to comprehensive outpatient care for individuals with sickle cell disease.

Washington, D.C – Today, House Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee Chairman John B. Larson (D-CT) andWorker and Family Support Subcommittee Chairman Danny K. Davis (D-IL) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin urging Treasury to allow Social Security beneficiaries who have dependents, but don’t file taxes, to continue to receive their $500 per child Economic Impact Payment in a timely manner, even if they miss Wednesday’s noon deadline.
