The Congressional Black Caucus Budget Proposes Fairer Tax Code, Universal Health Care, Making College More Affordable
Republican leaders introduced their “repeal and replace” legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives Monday evening. With most media attention focused on President Trump’s unsubstantiated and provocative charges of wire tapping against President Obama most of America first heard of the proposed legislation this morning. President Trump weighed in via Twitter this morning:
President Trump issued a new executive order on immigration and refugees today. It was released with no public ceremony which is entirely appropriate. There is nothing to celebrate here.
President Trump outlined his budget for the Congress and the American people last night. While the extreme rhetoric has been scaled back the audacity of the proposed cuts to basic services have not been scaled back and are enough to take ones breath away. Even leading Republicans declared the budget plan “dead on arrival”. Here are some of the highlights (or lowlights):
