Washington, D.C.- On Thursday, May 25, 2023, Representative Danny K. Davis (D-IL) joined with Representative Blake Moore (R-UT), Representative Gwen Moore (D-WI), Representative Randy Feenstra (R-IA), Representative Don Bacon (R-NE), and Representative Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-CA) to introduce the bipartisan H.R. 3662, Adoption Tax Credit Refundability Act of 2023. The legislation would make the current Adoption Tax Credit fully refundable, removing income as a barrier to adoption.

Chicago – On the 50th anniversary of the Safer Foundation and in honor of Second Chance Act Month, Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot proclaimed today Congressman Danny K. Davis Second Chance Day in Chicago, recognizing his contributions to helping 100,000 men and women through the Second Chance Act of 2007, of which he was the chief sponsor. In addition, the Safer Foundation will announce an honor at an event tonight, Congressman Danny K.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Danny K. Davis voted against the Default On America Act. This Republican legislation presents Americans with a terrible choice: either House Republicans will wreck our economy or inflict cruel cuts that hurt everyday people.

The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program is a program for families with children.  Two-thirds of TANF recipients are children and nearly 70 percent of them are under age 12. Over one third of TANF children are infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The primary goal of TANF should be to reduce adversity for poor children by providing stability and support to their families.
