Evaluation of the FY 2011 Bureau of Justice Assistance Second Chance Act Adult Offender Reentry Demonstration Projects

The U.S. Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice (NIJ) recently released a solicitation for the Evaluation of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) FY 2011 Second Chance Act Adult Offender Reentry Demonstration Projects. The specific focus areas under this solicitation include:

  1. An evaluability assessment of eight adult offender reentry demonstration projects. (NIJ anticipates one award of up to $400,000.)
  2. A comprehensive evaluation of eight adult offender reentry demonstration projects. (NIJ anticipates one award of up to $3 million.)

States, local governments, federally-recognized Indian tribes, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, and certain qualified individuals are eligible to apply. Application titles should clearly indicate the focus area, and applicants may submit to either or both focus areas. The deadline for submitting an application is June 11, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
