Rep. Davis Votes To Thwart President Trump from Going to War with Iran and End Any Current Hostilities
Today Rep. Davis proudly voted YES SJRes 68 joining a bipartisan majority in the Senate to reassert the war powers reserved to Congress by the Constitution and to honor our first responsibility as Members of Congress to keep the American people safe. This joint resolution directs the President to terminate the use of U.S. Armed Forces for hostilities against Iran unless explicitly authorized by a congressional declaration of war or a specific authorization for use of military force against Iran. Congress has an urgent responsibility to defend our constitutional authorities and our democracy’s system of separation of powers – particularly as the President claims that Article II means he can do ‘whatever he wants.'
