WASHINGTON, DC (FEBRUARY 13, 2013) – CONGRESSMAN DAVIS HOST FORUM ON THE EFFECT OF BUDGET CUTS ON THE WORKING POOR

Today Rep. Davis will be joined by Tony Miller, Deputy Secretary U.S. Department of Education; Dr. Vivian Gadsden, Director Center on Fathers and Families at the University of Pennsylvania; Glenn E. Martin, Vice President of Development and Public Affairs Fortune Society and Dr. Aixa Cintron-Velez, Senior Program Officer, Russell Sage Foundation to explore the impact of the debt ceiling, sequestration, reductions in congressional funding and the hidden attacks on the working class and the poor. Panelists will identify a range of social services programs and initiatives with a more comprehensive approach aimed at addressing the holistic needs of the interdependent family unit.

Congressman Davis is a Member of the House Comiittee on Ways and Means with broad jurisdiction over Federal revenue measures, including individual and corporate income taxes, excise taxes, estate taxes and gift taxes.
