All Chicago Residents Now Eligible for In-home COVID-19 Vaccination and $50 Gift Card from Grubhub
CHICAGO—The Chicago Department of Public Health announced today that its in-home vaccination program, Protect Chicago At Home, is now open to all Chicago residents age 12 and up. To encourage Chicago residents to take advantage of the program, Chicago-based Grubhub will donate gift cards valued at $50 to every household that chooses in-home vaccination.
Appointments can be booked now and gift card distribution will begin June 28. The gift cards will be usable immediately at any restaurant available through the Grubhub app.
"Vaccination is the best step to protect your family and your community from COVID-19, and we are grateful to Grubhub for their donation," said Allison Arwady, M.D., Commissioner, Chicago Department of Public Health. "Now families can be vaccinated together at home and then enjoy a home-delivered restaurant meal. It's easy and it's effective—and a great way to celebrate together."
"This partnership is a win-win - it will encourage families across the city to get vaccinated while supporting the independent restaurants that are vital to communities across Chicago," Grubhub CEO Adam DeWitt said. "Chicago is our hometown and we are proud to partner with the City to help put an end to COVID-19."
In-home vaccination offers a choice between the Pfizer (12 and older) and Johnson & Johnson (18 and older) vaccines. Up to 10 people can be vaccinated per household. Gift cards are limited to one card per household. The gift cards represent a $100,000 in-kind donation from Grubhub.
