REP. DAVIS CONGRADULATES HOMETOWN BOEING
WASHINGTON, DC (FEBRUARY 25, 2011) - Rep. danny k. davis (D-IL) issued the following statement CONGRADULATING THE BOEING COMPANY ON THE Contract Awarded to Develop the Nation's Next Generation Aerial Refueling Tanker
I want to congratulate the Boeing Company for receiving a contract from the U.S. Air Force to design, develop, and build our Nation's next generation aerial refueling tanker-the KC-46A tanker. The KC-46A tanker will replace 179 of the service's 400 KC-135 tankers. The awarded contract calls on Boeing to build a tanker aircraft using a low-risk approach to manufacturing by a trained and experienced U.S. work force at their existing facilities. The KC-46A tanker project will bring much needed capital and funding to boost a slow moving economy and support approximately 50,000 jobs with Boeing and more than 800 suppliers in more than 40 states.
Boeing is one of our most committed and visionary companies in the market place in providing state-of-the-art systems and products to our Nation.
