Davis Reiterates Support for Net Neutrality

July 14, 2017
Congressman Danny K. Davis strongly reitereated his long-time support for Net Neutrality.  In a statement Davis noted:
Net Neutrality has been and continues to be a central guiding principle for the operation of the Internet. It is not just about the technology of the internet, it is the application of the First Amendment of our Constitution to communication via speech and informaton sharing using modern technology.   It means that ISPs, the cable and phone companies which carry the information for the Internet, cannot slow down or block content or opinions based on their agreement or disagreement with that content or based on favored or disfavored Internet address nor can they offer faster or better service to content based on payment.  All information "bits" and addresses are, and should be, equal on the Internet.
